In this workshop the attendees will get to know the most heavily mined countries, hear about the aspect of the cost (human as well as monetary) and about the deployment of land mines in wars. The geographical as well as the health aspect will be an issue; countries with broad borders are using land mines for safety; landmines cause death and disability, they maim people for life. In this workshop we discuss other solutions for protecting the borders as well as the possibilities for young doctors to help people affected by those terrible weapons.
