Roman Sandoz (30) found himself being the main student world congress organizer since the IPPNW student body in Switzerland is virtually non-existant. He has been hooked on IPPNW ever since participating in the European Student Conference in Porto in April 2007 and is very grateful to have found some helpful hands in organizing this congress. Back in normal life (which might finally happen once this congress is over) Roman finishes his fifth year of medical studies at the University of Zurich, loves to go trial biking, photographing and spending time with his friends.

Tonina Steinmann

Dr. Alex Rosen (30) is a pediatrician at the University Children's Hospital Düsseldorf and has been a member of IPPNW Germany since starting his medical studies in 2000. He founded the local IPPNW group, has represented the European IPPNW Students as European Student Representative and has served two terms on the International Board of Directors - one as International Student Representative, one as a Doctor in Training. During his tenure, he started the IPPNW student website, SPARC and Target X and helped to organize ReCap as well as numerous regional and international conferences. In 2008, he started the MediNetz Düsseldorf, a local initiative aimed at providing health care to undocumented migrants/sans papiers.

Michael Gnilo
