Summary

The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons was launched by IPPNW in 2007, and has since spread to over 60 countries.  Many organisations and campaigners now use ICAN as a platform for their abolition work, and ICAN has produced tailored resources and materials on nuclear abolition aimed at educating a broad cross section of society, from school children to diplomats and members of NGO lobbying teams, local activists and the broader community.

IPPNW students have been important to the success of ICAN in recent years, infusing their enthusiasm into the campaign and promoting ICAN with innovative new activities.

On 6 August, ICAN launched the new Million Pleas initiative, a social networking campaign to gather one million pleas from people around the globe demanding a world free of nuclear weapons. IPPNW students will be vital contributors to this new project, so take this opportunity to learn more and see Million Pleas in action.

Come along to this workshop to build skills, pick-up resources and gain confidence in campaigning for nuclear abolition. Find out more about ICAN and how you can be a part!
