Born in Basel on 4/10/1948. Medical School in Basel (1967 - 1974), M.D. 1976. Intern and Resident at the Kantonsspital Basel (1974 - 1979). Research Fellow at the Division of Primary Care and Family Medicine of Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA (1980 - 1982). Medical Practice (Internal and Psychosomatic Medicine) in Basel (1982 - 1995).
Initiator and Co-Founder of PSR/IPPNW Switzerland (1981); Physicians Action "Air is Life" (1985); SUNswitzerland / sun21 (1997); Co-Founder of Transatlantic21 (2006), one of five crew members who crossed the Atlantic on a solar catamaran (Guiness Book Record 2007).
